All The British Cycling Events Happening In 2025

Cycling enthusiasts, get ready for an exhilarating year ahead in 2025! 

Whether you're a competitive rider aiming for the top or a recreational cyclist seeking new challenges, the upcoming season is packed with thrilling events. From elite track series to grassroots gravel rides, 2025 promises to be a landmark year for cycling across the UK and Europe.

Lloyds National Track Series – Elite Racing at Its Best

Starting in October 2025, the Lloyds National Track Series will run until January 2026, featuring four action-packed rounds. These British cycling events will incorporate sprint, endurance, and para-cycling leagues, and every round will include national championship events. Competitors will face off in the elimination, team pursuit, omnium, Madison, and 1km time-trial events.

  • Round 1: Derby, 19th October 2025 (sprint and endurance, incorporating national elimination)

  • Round 2: Newport, 15-16th November 2025 (para-cycling, sprint and endurance, incorporating national team pursuit)

  • Round 3: Manchester, 20-21st December 2025 (para-cycling and endurance, incorporating national omnium and Madison)

  • Round 4: Glasgow, 24-25th January 2026 (para-cycling and sprint, incorporating national 1km time-trial)

These rounds are perfectly timed to allow road racers to get race-ready for the Lloyds National Track Championships, which take place annually in February. It’s a chance to showcase both speed and stamina at the highest level.

Lloyds National Summer Series – Reviving Outdoor Velodromes

For those who enjoy outdoor British cycling events, the Lloyds National Summer Series will bring velodromes back to life with some of the most historic blue-ribbon events. Riders will also have the opportunity to automatically qualify for the Lloyds National Track Championships from 2026 onward.

  • Round 1: Middlesbrough, 26th May 2025

  • Round 2: Herne Hill, 20th July 2025

  • Round 3: Portsmouth, 17th August 2025

This series will bring together club riders from across the country for a competitive, yet accessible, racing experience.

Youth and Junior Racing – Building the Future of Cycling

2025 will also see the continuation of the National Youth Omnium Series, alongside the exciting new National Sprint Future Series, which aims to inspire the next generation of sprint cyclists. Featuring four qualifying rounds for the youth and junior riders, these events will highlight the talents of young cyclists across the nation.

  • National Youth Omnium Series: various rounds from March to June, with the grand final at Lee Valley VeloPark on 12th July 2025.

  • National Sprint Future Series: this new initiative kicks off with Round 1 at Lee Valley VeloPark on 6th April 2025.

These British cycling events are designed to nurture talent and provide a solid foundation for young riders looking to make their mark in competitive cycling.

Lloyds National Grass Track Series – A Classic Experience

The Lloyds National Grass Track Series continues to grow, offering 10 rounds across various tracks, providing a classic and nostalgic cycling experience. Grass track racing combines speed and strategy, and these events are perfect for both competitive riders and fans looking for a laid-back yet exciting atmosphere.

  • Round 1: Ashwell Spring, 18th May 2025

  • Round 2: West Suffolk, 8th June 2025

  • Round 3: Colchester, 29th June 2025

  • Round 4: Isle of Wight, 13th July 2025

  • Round 5: Sussex, 3rd August 2025

  • Round 6: Kingston, 16th August 2025

  • Round 7: London, 30th August 2025

  • Round 8: Birmingham, 13th September 2025

  • Round 9: Kent, 20th September 2025

  • Round 10: Liverpool, 5th October 2025

This series is an excellent way to enjoy the charm of grass track cycling while being part of a growing community of riders.

Gravel Events – Challenging the Off-Road Rider

For those who love off-road adventures, 2025 will be a great year for gravel riding. Events like the Exeter Gravel Races, Haldon Heroic and Ride the Reservoir will showcase the best gravel trails, offering both competitive and recreational rides. These events are designed for gravel bikes, mountain bikes, or cross-country riders, with stunning routes through scenic countryside.

  • Exeter Gravel Races: 13th April 2025, offering gravel rides on Haldon Forest’s finest trails.

  • Haldon Heroic: 13th April 2025, a gravel ride featured in Red Bull’s Best Cyclocross and Gravel Events of 2024.

  • Ride the Reservoir: 27th April 2025, a challenging ride supporting Birmingham Hospice.

Sportives and Charity Rides – Ride for a Cause
