FAQ
NO! Absolutely not. You can be just getting on a bike with a goal in mind, or currently racing in Cat 1/2/3/4, or simply want to improve your times on each weekend ride. We help all cyclists no matter where you are on your pedalling journey. We’ll help you identify what your gaol is and put in place a programme to get you there. We ask that you have the minimum of two hours a week to commit to training.
We’ll set you up with one of our hand picked coaches who will have a Skype consultation with you to determine what your needs are and how we can get you going. Training is prescribed via Training Peaks, an online app, where you’ll be able to view your training and upload your training when you’ve completed it. Coaching works by open communication between you and your coach.
Life is not straightforward, and things will prevent you being able to complete every session exactly as prescribed. It may be a family commitment, or it may be extremely bad weather - whatever the case, a workable solution will be provided - you just need to let us know.
Your goal is personal to you and there is no right and wrong answer. It may be very simple in that you want to generally get fitter and stronger, or it may be that you want to increase your lactic threshold. Setting a goal is a fundamental part of being coached and we will work with you to establish a realistic goal that we can work towards, together.
Absolute minimum is a bike! From there on, it is purely down to preference and budget. A heart rate monitor has its benefits, as does an indoor trainer (a Turbo), but they are not essential. We will work with what you have got.
Rowe & King offer a number of services, details of which are on the Cycling Coaching Packages page on this website.
This all depends on the level of day to day contact you want with your coach and how much analysis and support you require, i.e. nutritional guidance and strength and conditioning support. Feel free to contact us for an informal chat about the best package for you.
